History of Washington

The origin of Washington DC lies amidst 4000years of Native American inhabitance in the area along Anacostia & Potomac Rivers. As per historians, the state of Washington was so located courtesy a mutual negotiation between the northern American states which were represented by Alexander Hamilton & southern American states which were led by Thomas Jefferson. The earliest specimen of human existence in the area dates to the remote 7000B.C. era.
The state was aptly named after its first ruler George Washington, under whose leadership a federal government was formed in 1800 which was the first administrative infrastructure this state ever had. Since its inception, Washington has had a not so glorifying history involving unrelenting political chaos, racial issues, administrative recognition & individual muscle flexing of the then political powers.
Washington’s earliest inhabitants are believed to have come to this place via the Bering Strait & the North-western Pacific water body from the continent of Asia. The earliest European inhabitants in the bare land of Washington were the Spaniards in the late 18th century. Juan Perez, Bruno Heceta & Juan Francisco were some of the prominent European individuals’ who migrated into Washington in late 18th century.
These Europeans were the first inhabitants who initiated & helped Washington maritime trade prosper. Among them, Captain James cook was the first who took interest in initiating fur trade over water way along northwestern Pacific. At that time, even the overland traders started exploring their businesses along the northwestern coasts, among which the most promising organizations were Hudson Bay & Canadian North West Companies.
In 1843, a provisional government came into existence in Washington including the country of Oregon & stretching up to Canada. Post a negotiation with the British, Native Americans were able to draw a proper geographical boundary differentiating Canada & Washington in 1846.

Climate & weather of Washington

The climate of the state of Washington is predominantly characterized by two major components, the Cascaded Mountains & the prevalent north western winds. Washington has four distinct seasons namely summer, winter, Spring & Autumn.
Western Washington has weather similar to middle & south eastern coast of the Atlantic though it is known to receive one of the highest amounts of rainfall. On the contrary, eastern Washington’s climate is characterized by hot summers, chilled winters & light amount of rainfall. Due to climatic variables, coastal areas receiving moderate rainfall host a whole lot of temperate rain forests while the dry southern coasts has a lot of dry deserts.
Going by factual data, one would get to know that temperatures portray a more extreme trend in Eastern Washington compared to its west. In western Washington along the slopes of mountains, weather offices record January temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degree C) to 48 degrees F (9 degree C) in coastal areas. In summer months of July, temperatures soar between 44 degrees F (7 degree C) & 80 degrees F (27 degrees C). Eastern Washington on the other hand has very cold winters when temperatures hover around 8 degrees F (-13 degrees C) in mountainous regions & 40 degrees F (4 degrees C) in the lowland plateaus. Summers are warmer as said above, when temperatures typically hang around between 48 degrees F (9 degrees C) in the Cascaded mountainous part & 92 degrees F (33 degrees C) at the epicenter of Washington.
The amalgamation of hot & humid weather conditions in summer has often resulted in humongous thunderstorms leading to tornadoes in the area. Besides, the neighboring areas experience strong hurricanes occasionally during the late summer or during early rainfall periods. But Washington has been safeguarded from a lot of these natural calamities owing to its geographical position which is enclosed by several huge mass of land areas.
